Admissions

We help people improve their quality of life by providing excellent care. Contact us today to discover how we can help.

What to Expect

Upon arriving at Red River Hospital, all potential patients will be greeted by one of our friendly intake specialist who will have them fill out an assessment information sheet to gather as much information as possible. All assessments are conducted by a licensed professional and, once completed, are reviewed by a team member or a supervisor. If the criteria for admission is met, a physician will be contacted and the admissions process begins immediately. During this time, copies of insurances cards will be made and sent to the business office for benefit verification.

Admissions Criteria

Our admissions criteria includes the following:

  • Suicidal ideations
  • Homicidal ideations
  • Danger to self or others
  • In need of medical detox
  • Severe deterioration in level of functioning
  • Physical aggression

If the potential client does not meet the criteria, or inpatient admission is not met, we will assess if they are a good candidate for our outpatient services and give a referral. If Red River cannot provide the client with the type of services that they need, we will call our local mental health authority, Helen Farabee, to come and assess the client. We will not let a client leave if we believe that they are a danger to themselves or others.
